Project Highlight: 88th Armory in Southfield

The inside of RBV Contracting's project, the 88th Armory in Southfield, shows shiny floors and multiple levels.

Our team at RBV Contracting is extremely passionate about the work that we do, and there is an immense feeling of pride when our team successfully, and safely, finishes a project. Since September 21, 2017, our team has been working on the 88th Regional Support Command Repair Vehicle Exhaust System, Building Maintenance Activity project, and we are about a month away from completion.

We were hired by the Rock Island District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to complete this project in Southfield, Michigan. This $1.8 million-dollar project was a large undertaking, and really exciting for our team.

For this project, our scope of work included selective demolition, providing temporary facilities, abatement, replacing vehicle and pedestrian gates, concrete work, masonry, mechanical, painting, duct work, heating and cooling units, electrical work, fire detection, and much, much more.

“The 88th Armory project has been a great example of the skilled and timely work that the RBV team does,” said Jim Foucher, Vice President of RBV Contracting. “Everyone has worked very hard and it is so exciting to see all of the final pieces coming together.”

In March, our team welcomed several representatives from the Office of Advocacy and the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) to our offices, and we brought them out to the 88th Armory project to show them the type of work that we do. We were proud to show off this project and everyone had a great time putting on hard hats and checking out some of our construction equipment. We were also able to show the representatives some of the heavy-duty Humvees that were on-site at the project.

Josh Perritt, Superintendent, and Steve Johnson, Project Manager, played vital roles in the 88th Armory project by ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that our team was following the project timeline.

Our skilled team is always ready for a challenge, and will continue to set our sights high for future projects!
